Mai Thi Thu (2011)

“… Because of sickness, I can’t help my family. That our children are strong and learn how be a good citizens … is my only hope”. That is words from heart of Mrs Vu Thi Huyen borned in 1969 in 4 village, Hoang Ha commune ( Hoang Ha – Thanh Hoa) – mother of Mai Thi Thu borned in 2001. Thu is now a grade 5 pupil in Hoang Ha primary (Hoang Ha- Thanh Hoa).

Mai Thi Thu is the third in a four child family. Her father – Mr Mai The Truong, who works as a carpenter. For many years, her mother has been too weak to work, her father becomes the main earner of family. All six living in the house and children’ shool fee totally depend on some arces of rice field and their father’s earning from carpenter. Thu with her sisters and brothers are in age of going to school. The oldest sister is now a student of The Academy of Journalism and Communication, the second is a high school student. And her little brother borned in 2011 is still too young. To help parents to have more money, besides studying time, Thu has to cut grass and breed cow.

Everyone who has had a chance to meet Thu has an impression with her agility, smartness through her bright eyes. From grade 1 to grade 5, Thu has been always a brilliant pupil in Hoang Ha primary and a pride of her parents for being a pious and diligent child. Thu said that: “ I wish that I can learn more so that in future I can teach other poor children”.
